Defending champions Lahore Qalandars kicked off PSL 2026 with a commanding 69-run victory over newcomers Hyderabad Kingsmen. Fakhar Zaman earned player of the match honors with a brilliant 53 off 39 balls. He and Mohammad Naeem set the tone with an aggressive 83-run opening partnership.
Sikandar Raza and Shaheen Afridi provided explosive late fireworks to push the total to 199/6. In reply, Hyderabad Kingsmen never gained momentum in the chase. Marnus Labuschagne top scored with a labored 26 off 22 balls.
However, the middle order collapsed as every Lahore bowler picked up at least one wicket. The Kingsmen were bowled out for 130 with one ball remaining.

First Innings Highlights
Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Naeem attacked from the very first over. Naeem smashed a six off Riley Meredith in the third over to signal his intent. Meanwhile, Fakhar punished anything short, crashing four boundaries in a devastating sixth over off Mohammad Ali.

Second Innings Highlights
Saim Ayub started aggressively with three fours in the power play. However, Shaheen Afridi struck early by removing Usman Khan for 9 with a sharp catch from keeper Haseebullah Khan. Ubaid Shah then picked up his maiden PSL wicket by dismissing Saim Ayub for 17. Marnus Labuschagne tried to rebuild alongside Kusal Perera.
On the other hand, Sikandar Raza struck with his very first delivery, trapping Perera lbw for 1. Mustafizur Rahman accounted for Irfan Khan with a clever slower ball. As a result, the Kingsmen slumped to 59/4 after eight overs.
