Hyderabad Kingsmen Innings: Usman Khan Powers HYDK To 186/5
Hyderabad Kingsmen batted first and reached 186/5 in 20 overs. Their innings started poorly when Maaz Sadaqat was dismissed for a duck with the score at 1/1. Saim Ayub and Marnus Labuschagne then steadied the innings with a useful partnership.
Saim Ayub scored 38 off 27 balls, hitting 7 fours at a strike rate of 140.74. Labuschagne added 39 off 32 balls, giving the Kingsmen a stable base after the early wicket.
The main push came from Usman Khan, who remained unbeaten on 61 off 30 balls. His innings included 10 fours and came at a strike rate of 203.33. Kusal Perera also played an important role with 37 off 21 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Hyderabad lost wickets at regular stages but kept the scoring rate high enough to finish at 186/5. For Islamabad United, Imad Wasim picked up 2 wickets, while Richard Gleeson, Chris Green and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each.
Islamabad United Innings: Hunain Shah Defends 6 Runs In Final Over
Islamabad United needed 187 to win and finished just short at 184/7 in 20 overs. Devon Conway gave them a decent start with 30 off 25 balls, while Shadab Khan made 22 off 24.
Mark Chapman kept Islamabad in the hunt with 43 off 26 balls, hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. Haider Ali then gave the chase real momentum with 31 off 16 balls at a strike rate of 193.75.
Faheem Ashraf’s 19 off 11 balls brought Islamabad close, especially after the team collected 22 runs from the 19th over. That left them needing only 6 runs from the final over.
Hunain Shah delivered the decisive last over for Hyderabad Kingsmen. He kept Islamabad quiet, removed Faheem Ashraf, and did not allow a boundary in the over. Chris Green remained unbeaten on 21 off 9 balls, but could not finish the chase on the final ball.
Hunain Shah ended with 2 wickets for 37 runs and was named Player of the Match. Mohammad Ali also picked up 2 wickets, while Akif Javed, Hassan Khan and Saim Ayub took one each.
The 2-run win took Hyderabad Kingsmen into their first PSL final, where they will face Peshawar Zalmi at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Sunday.
