11 Players With Most Wickets In PSL History (2026 Stats)

The Pakistan Super League has now completed multiple seasons since 2016, and bowlers have played a key role in shaping match results. Hasan Ali currently leads the Most Wickets in PSL History list with 134 wickets in 96 matches, including best figures of 4/15.

Close behind, Shaheen Shah Afridi has taken 132 wickets in 89 matches, while Wahab Riaz follows with 113 wickets in 88 matches. Shadab Khan (112 wickets) and Faheem Ashraf (100 wickets) also feature among the top performers in the league’s history.

1. Hasan Ali: 125 Wickets in 92 Matches

Hasan Ali is the highest wicket-taker in PSL history. He achieved this through many years of strong and consistent performances. He started his PSL career with Peshawar Zalmi in 2016 at the age of 22.

Later, he also played for Islamabad United and Karachi Kings. In PSL 2019, he took 25 wickets in 13 matches, a record for most wickets in a single PSL season. He also bowled the most overs in PSL history, with 347.1 overs. His best bowling figures are 4/15, and his average is 22.62 in 92 matches. In PSL 2025, he performed at a high level again, taking 17 wickets in just 10 matches for Karachi Kings.

2. Shaheen Shah Afridi: 122 Wickets in 84 Matches

Shaheen Shah Afridi is not only a top bowler but also the most successful captain in PSL history. He made his debut for Lahore Qalandars in 2018. Since then, he has taken 122 wickets in 84 matches with an average of 20.31, which is the best among the top 10 bowlers. In his early PSL games, he showed his talent by taking 5 wickets for just 4 runs against Multan Sultans.

He became the third and fastest bowler to reach 100 wickets. In the PSL 2023 final, he gave a great all-round performance with 4 wickets and 44 runs off 15 balls. In PSL 2025, he took 19 wickets in 13 matches. As captain, he led Lahore Qalandars to titles in 2022, 2023, and 2025, making him the most successful captain in PSL history.

3. Wahab Riaz: 113 Wickets in 88 Matches

Wahab Riaz was the first bowler to take 100 wickets in PSL history. He played for Peshawar Zalmi from the first season in 2016 until his retirement in 2023. He became the first player to take 100 PSL wickets in February 2022 when he dismissed Danish Aziz.

Shadab Khan is the only spinner to take 100 wickets in PSL history. He started his PSL journey in 2017 with Islamabad United as a young player. He has been a key player for Islamabad United and became captain in 2020. Under his captaincy, Islamabad United won the PSL title in 2024, their third title.
